We have provided beach chairs & towels, boogie boards, cooler & reading materials! Wailea & South Maui Golf?Wailea and Makena’s 5 courses offer unparalleled ocean & mountain views. These championship courses are each in excess of 7000 yards and all boast a par 72. Makena’s South course is considered challenging terrain and the adjacent north course is shorter, but equally stimulating. Both are designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. Wailea’s Blue course, designed by Arthur Jack Snyder is a true resort course, featuring tropical foliage, fountains and wide fairways. The Gold course is the most intriguing, requiring strategy and finesse to play well. The Emerald course is women friendly, with a lush style of landscape. The Gold and Emerald courses are also both Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed. Tennis Anyone?We have two regulation hard courts 10 steps from our Melia condo. Wailea resort offers 11 hard courts, full service pro shop, 5 tennis pros, daily lessons and clinics available. Makena offers 6 hard courts, a smaller pro shop and 1 tennis pro by appointment. Scuba Diving in Kihei and South Maui!Crystal blue and emerald waters are your Maui diving experience. Whether you are a beginning snorkeler or advanced certified diver, South Maui offers it all. Molokini is Maui’s premier dive location and a short hop by boat from the Kihei boat ramp, literally across the street from Maui Kamaole. Molokini consistently offers visibility in the 80’-150’ range, and has sites ranging from advanced drift diving on the backside wall to beginning snorkeling inside the protected crater. You’ll see more fish than in an aquarium store, with all the colors of the rainbow. In addition to the dive charters, we are minutes from some of the best shore scuba and snorkel sites on Maui. Enjoy swimming with green sea turtles at turtle town, or head off to Ahihi-Kinau marine reserve for premium shore diving and snorkeling. Maui Surf?Beginners can paddle out to the safe and soft waves of Cove Park, where instruction can be had from many surf schools. This is a 5 minute drive from our condo. Did you read about the Kihei boat ramp above? During large west swells, the harbor entrance becomes a fun and snappy two way peak. Summertime? Advanced surfers (we call ‘em aggros) can drop into Dumps or La Perouse…be advised that these spots are for hard core, experienced surfers seeking thick powerful waves and open barrels. Winter surfers have the option of choosing Hookipa or Honolua Bay for their north shore experiences (again…experience is a must!). ^^^Go To Top of Page^^^
